Monte Cristo Sliders
3 (2)

Monte Cristo Sliders are a nod to the famous Monte Cristo Sandwich which has been around since the 1950s. See my recipe here. Sliders are great for parties or other gatherings and this one is especially good. With ½ pound of sliced ham, turkey and Swiss cheese from the deli and a few other ingredients, you are ready to start sliding.

Cut 12 slider rolls in half horizontally leaving the tops and bottoms intact. (I like the Hawaiian variety.) Place the bottom section of the rolls on a sheet pan and spread with mayo-mustard edge to edge made with 1 cup of mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard and 1 tablespoon of grainy mustard. Lay half of the Swiss cheese flat on top of the mayo-mustard cutting slices to make sure it is completely covered.

Pile folded slices of the ham over the cheese. This will give the sliders height. Do the same with the turkey. Dot the top with ½ teaspoons of seedless raspberry jam with the idea each slider will have jam. Lay the remaining Swiss cheese on top and then the top of the slider roll. Bake in a 375-degree pre-heated oven for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is melted. With a serrated knife, cut into individual sliders. Sift confectioner’s sugar on top before serving.

And that is it. Easy, delicious and a real crowd pleaser. Enjoy!
